Our Story
MD’s Quote
“This agency is a gift from my father. He imbibed the qualities like diligence, discipline, faith and courage in us which are protecting us today. The goodwill he earned and the service he rendered are being remembered by our customers even today.I was very young when my father died. While he was around, I did not realise his importance. But after his death, I realised how important he was to me. After realising the goodwill he has earned for himself in his friends’ and customers’ circles, I decided to live like him. Walking in his footsteps and following his principles, I have been taking everyone along in my business. I extend my heartfelt thanks to my father’s friends and my customers for standing with me through my ups and downs in life”.

We are Industrialists and they are Businessmen. – Ratan Tata.
Yes. I believe Ratan Tata has said the ideals of my father in a very simple line. Surely, this is the quote that gave clarity to my thoughts. Perhaps, this line by Ratan Tata is very inspiring for how we should think and live. I believe it applies to everyone.
In 1991 our beloved father Shri M N Krishnappa started this, organization Sarvodaya Security Services. After the retirement from the Indian Air Force, serving a long time for 15 years, based on his experience, he started the Sarvodaya security agency which was much needed in those days. He was one of the leading figures in the early days of the security services sector. The ideals of our father, who lived like a legend during his lifetime, helped thousands of people to get their happy living, will always be my guiding principle.
In due course, when the responsibility of leading Sarvodaya inevitably fell on my shoulders, I handled that responsibility with utmost dedication. Now, I am proud of the fact that I have helped more than 4000 employees to make a living, by continuing on the path laid down by my father. I believe I succeeded in carrying my father’s legacy.
In the last 34 years, our company Sarvodaya has made strong strides in the field of private security. The fact that the people who stood with the organization in the early days are still continuing in the hundreds, is a testament to the bond between the organization and our staff. This success and progress is just because of its attitude, thinking like an industry not only as a business. The organization is moving forward keeping everyone as a family.
Sarvodaya is also growing its customer base tremendously. No organization can grow if it does not provide satisfying service to the customers. In that too, the trust and patronage of customers is the reason for an organization to stand strong for more than three decades. Customer is god, service is commitment. This is our mission statement. So I believe that our success lies in honesty, hard work and thoughts.
We can make a great contribution to the development of the society by taking a system systematically within our limits. I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the kind hearted customers, staff and friends who have made Sarvodaya successful in that direction.
The legacy of Shri M N Krishnappa
A man of eminence who is responsible for the birth of the Sarvodaya Security, was Mr. M. N. Krishnappa. He hails from a simple family in Matakuru village near Hesaraghatta, Bangalore.
He served in various branches of Air Force Division i.e. Agra, Guwahati, Chabua, Arunachal Pradesh etc. mostly in North India and East India. Later, an opportunity came to serve at the Air Force Base in Yelahanka, Bangalore too.
After 15 years of service there are options to serve in the army or to get retirement. In 1989, Krishnappa, who was away from his hometown, home and loved ones for a long time, thought of voluntary retirement. After some time of rest, after consulting relatives, friends and well-wishers, he decided to start up an adventure in the private security service sector.
Sarvodaya, started in 1990 with a partnership of a friend, quickly became a high-profile success in the private security sector. The reason for this is that Krishnappa had served in the army. That made a lot of qualifying acts. Apart from this, Krishnappa was a well built person of more than 6 feet, excelled in responsible mediation and settlement of most of the factory union related strikes etc. Krishnappa’s name became popular in the private security sector as he was a voice for the local people’s problems and a solution to legal problems too. Within a few years, Krishnappa allowed hundreds of people to work in the Sarvodaya organisation. In 1998, he separated from the partnership and became a sole proprietor. By the time of 2002 he was providing employment for more than 1000 people.
A big turbulence and the rebound
On 26 June 2002 an accident took place which shook the whole system and uprooted it. Krishnappa, who was on his way to Mysore for a private function, met with an unexpected accident and succumbed to his last breath. It was a most unexpected shock to the family and the organisation.
At that time, Prashant was only 23 years old. A graduate since 1999, Prashant had developed a good association with the organisation by coming to the office with his father, going with him to clients’ companies and offices, assisting his father in his work, looking after the office affairs in his father’s absence. Along with this, he used to practice post-graduation diploma courses in HR Management and Personnel Management. After this he also completed his MBA in the same way. There was a little bit of business awareness due to association with the organisation, direct interaction with customers and father’s encouragement, but not with a commendable knowledge.
Krishnappa did not want his son to enter this business. He wanted him to join the army like him. Else, he dreamed of getting higher education and rising to a higher position. There were reasons for that. The private security sector proposes immense challenges. It requires immense mental and physical strength to face it. No matter what the problem is in any company or customer’s premises, the security personnel would be held responsible. And then the agency that sent them will be held more responsible for this. He dreamed of giving his son a life without any such pressures as the dilemmas, problems, challenges, all these brought immense pressure. All these dreams of theirs also vanished with their demise.
Prashant, who was only doing the assigned work, did not know the full weight of responsibility. Krishnappa did not let him know that as well. Prashant, who was happily spending his youthful days with new dreams, suddenly felt the necessity of shouldering the responsibility of the household. Not only to take care of the family but also to ensure that the lives of hundreds of people who had shelter in the organisation were not to be derailed. At this time, Prashanth made a firm decision and came forward to take this responsibility.
Due to his persona, Krishnappa had a large circle of kind hearted friends. That group of friends stood behind Prashant. Prashant also met each and every customer directly and explained the situation to them and succeeded in gaining their trust and confidence. With the cooperation and support of all, Prashant gained complete control over the business and in a very few years he got to know the depth and breadth of the business.
From there, Prashant proceeded to build the organisation with utmost discipline and commitment for almost 24 years continuously without any other goal or dream. In the meantime, personal responsibilities such as marriage and family increased, but he meditated a lot on building an organisation rather than a family. Day and night, he worked hard observing every little detail.
His commitment, hard work and honesty bore great fruit in later days. Offering all possible services in the private security sector, expanded branches across the state. By adopting new technologies and introducing them to the customers, the company expanded its services. Due to Prashant’s continuous efforts and hard work, Sarvodaya organisation now has more than 4000 employees.
